    SADTU

SADTU seems to be a union that represents most of the teachers in South Africa. It does not only Emre present teachers but it strives on putting teachers needs first and making sure that teachers know all the rights they have.

I will feel empowered to join the South African Democratic Union (SADTU) because of its well-known active role in promoting the benefits and working conditions of teachers, as well as the fact that the Union has a powerful voice in the education sector.

The union that I decided to join is SADTU. According to what I heard about SADTU; was that it’s was one of the unions that is energetic and make things happen also fearless, the leaders are not afraid to stand for the truth and fight for what the believe is in the best interests of their members. They always make sure that every member’s needs are catered and dealt with in no time. And they always work by book and follows all the set policies and procedures that are currently governing the state and educational organisations.

I am part of the SAOU

I selected this Union, because their values are the same as mine. They do care for their members and came through with good results in the past. This union is willing to negotiate and do not take to the streets or strike actions, without through talks and negotiations. I think it is essential for every teacher to belong to an union that can back you in disputes and unfair situations in a school.

I already joined SADTU<div>Reason is because most teachers at my school and previous schools are mainly on this organization. I joined also because I grow on the area where ANC is the dominant organization, thus now I find SADTU as a relevant organisation. </div>

I’ve mixed feelings about joining any, but SADTU seems to be the most important one that takes serious matters of most educators. What makes me not to be sure about joining any, is that they all seem to be extention of political parties. I also have no confidence in their knowledge of the legislations regulating this sector. They have no legal background and there are no clear empowerment programs to capacitate them.

SAOU – They provide members with professional development opportunities and keep them up to date on education-related matters. As a teachers’ union, the SAOU is committed to the greatest universal principles and service delivery ideals. They are a powerful professional organization that has the authority to bargain with the employer over wages and workplace conditions and to defend members in complaints and conflicts.

I’m going to join SADTU. The majority of South African teachers appear to be represented by the SADTU union. I support its mission and guiding ideals, which include eliminating all forms of discrimination in education and working toward a free and democratic educational system in South Africa.

SADTU is the only way to go, as they listen to teacher concerns and helps in finding solutions through engagements.
