I think the promotion of gender equality should be more considered during this time. This will help to create a conducive learning environment where learners are free and can express themselves in a way, they feel comfortable with, and we appreciate them. Building a learner’s self-confidence is very simple, show the learn you trust him/her, show love without judging but guiding and encouraging them always, hey gain confidence in everything.

I believe Dress Code speaks volumes to how others Perceives you. Dressing professionally might be Subjective considering the Fashion trend, but in This regards I believe the word should be dressing Decently. How different people dress speaks to who they are in my opinion

I think a new teacher will not get it right from the start to act professionally at all times, but it is expected of a new teacher to grow professionally as he/she grows in competence and capability in the teaching profession. No teacher is an island and it is wise to keep an open mind, be teachable at all times and connect to more seasoned teachers that knows the ways of the Department and the school.

Arriving early helps a teacher to organise everything they need for the day ahead and proper planning for the day is essential

I think parental involvement in our learners’ education is very important. If parents can contribute to teaching and learning I think we will have a better performance than ever before. Some of the learners need someone to give them a little push before they can do better and it is not enough only when it is coming from educators.

I agree with promoting gender equality in classroom, learners need to feel safe

Appointing learners to do your job as a teacher is a critical matter eg learner’s writing notes on the chalkboard while you’re on your phone, making them mark your exam scripts and so on

Punctuality is a vital aspect of professional ethics, demonstrating respect for other’s time and commitment. It builds trust and credibility and it also increases productivity and effeciency.

I believe education is a three leg system and once one of them fails, the mission and the vision of a school becomes unsuccessful. Parents are so absent in their children’s learning and that causes more difficulties in the learning community.
As result educators are unable to move smoothly with the teaching and learning of the children as the absenteeism becomes a huge problem.

The Code of Professional Ethics for educators, as outlined by the National Education Association (NEA), emphasizes several essential characteristics. One critical characteristic is:
*Respect for the Dignity and Worth of All Individuals*
This characteristic is critical for several reasons:
*Why it’s critical:*
1. Inclusive learning environment: Demonstrating respect for students, colleagues, and families from diverse backgrounds fosters an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.
2. Positive relationships: Respect builds trust, facilitating strong relationships between educators, students, and stakeholders.
3. Emotional well-being: Respectful interactions promote students’ emotional well-being and resilience.
4. Academic success: When students feel valued, they’re more likely to engage and achieve academically.
5. Professional integrity: Educators who model respect demonstrate commitment to ethical practice.
*Reflection:*
As educators, we shape minds and influence futures. By embracing respect as a core value, we:
1. Recognize the inherent worth of every individual.
2. Create safe spaces for open discussion and growth.
3. Empower students to become empathetic, global citizens.
4. Set high standards for our own professional conduct.
*Actionable steps:*
1. Practice active listening and empathy.
2. Use inclusive language and materials.
3. Address microaggressions and biases.
4. Foster student voice and agency.
5. Engage in ongoing self-reflection and professional growth.
By prioritizing respect, educators cultivate a positive, supportive environment where students thrive and grow into compassionate, responsible individuals.

1.Acknowledges the uniqueness, individuality and specific needs of each learner, guiding and encouraging each to realise his or her potentialities.
Educators at large is our major responsibility to understand that each person has their own set of experiences, perspectives and ways of learning.Recognizing this individuality is crucial because it allows for tailored guidance and support.

One of the characteristics that is critical is to strive to enable learners to develop a set of values consistent
with the fundamental rights contained in the Constitution of South
Africa; we as teachers need to make sure that we enhance learners in life and make them the best version they can be. -
Punctuality is an important factor in our line of work and it also says a lot about you as a person and how serious you are about your work

Working as a team.
It is essential that you and your colleagues can work as a team. They are there to help you and advise you in terms of planning, teaching methods, discipline in the class, and assessment (format of the assessment), as well as support you in times of need or when you are struggling.

As educators, we should by all means avoid any form of humiliation, and refrain from any form of abuse.
