Integrity
Integrity is crucial in education because teachers shape not just what learners know, but who they become. Teachers serve as role models. When they act with integrity—by being honest, fair, and respectful, they create a learning environment built on trust. That trust encourages learners to take intellectual risks, speak openly, and grow not just academically, but ethically. For example, grading fairly, giving credit for others’ ideas, and being transparent with expectations all demonstrate integrity in action. When learners see that integrity is valued and practiced, they are more likely to carry those values into their own lives.

One characteristic from the Code of Professional Ethics that I consider critical is <strong data-start=”278″ data-end=”291″>integrity. As a teacher, integrity means consistently acting with honesty, fairness, and strong moral principles — even when no one is watching. This quality builds trust not only with students, but also with parents, colleagues, and the wider school community.
Students look to their teachers as role models, and when we act with integrity, we show them the importance of doing the right thing, even when it’s difficult. Whether it’s being fair in grading, honoring confidentiality, or standing up for what’s best for a student, integrity shapes the tone of the classroom and reinforces a positive learning environment.

Knowing your learners, starting with knowing them by their names, I have been working for two months, and I believe I know all 52 of my learners by name, and I understand most of their characters. Knowing your learners gives them a sense of belonging, and they also feel the love, value, and respect you give them. Which motivates them toi give you the same respect as learners look up to us as teachers.

fairness and equity, as an educator it is very crucial to be fair and treat all learners (boys and girls) equal , it is our responsibility as this provide them with equal opportunities in learning and also share their ideas with each other without fear of feeling inferior.
