I think the promotion of gender equality in the classroom is very important right now in South Africa. My contribution in this will assist in addressing gender based violence, even if it is in a small way.
-
I also think the promotion of gender equality should be more considered during this time. This will help to create a conducive learning environment where learners are free and can express themselves in a way they feel comfortable with and we appreciate them. Building a learners self-confidence is very simple, show the learn you trust him/her, show love without judging but guiding and encouraging them always, they gain confidence in everything.
-
I believe in promoting gender equality in the classroom. Because learners need to feel free in the classroom and this will make a conducive environment in the classroom as learners will feel free in teaching and learning freely.
-
I think promotion of gender equality is crucial in the classroom as it provides same learning opportunities to all leaners

-
- Avoid segregating boys and girls into separate lines, separate sports activities and mix seating up in the classroom.
- Ensure any educational materials used show genders in equal measure.
- Mix boys and girls to work on projects together
-
- I think promotion of gender equality is really an important factor too ,so that every child may feel equal and be treated fairly, they will do better in classroom environment and do well in school if all participate in answering questions the teacher may ask and asking for help where they feel stuck .
-
-
I think the promotion of gender equality in the classroom is very important to boost learner’s confidence and for all learners to feel welcomed and important in the classroom.
-
I also think that the promotion of gender equality in the classroom is of more important. The reason being that the participation and involvement of both girls and boys in learning should be valued equally.
-
I second this, it also allows learners not to feel discriminated based on their gender while enforcing the idea that everyone’s voice matters and their opinions are relevant. This, as mentioned above, can help boost learners’ confidence.
-
Promotion of gender equality is the most useful strategy for learners to learn about equality and know that no one is valued than the other ones.
-
-
Thank you for sharing your perspective — I completely agree with you. Promoting gender equality is essential in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. When learners feel seen, respected, and valued for who they are, they’re far more likely to engage confidently in the classroom. I also appreciate your point about building self-confidence through trust and encouragement. As teachers, our words and actions carry a lot of weight, and simply showing belief in a learner’s potential can have a lasting impact on their growth — both academically and personally.
-
On the point of professionalism, I think the most important factor is : Being on time is crucial in teaching because:
1. *Respect*: Punctuality shows respect for students, colleagues, and the learning process.
2. *Professionalism*: Regular attendance and punctuality demonstrate professionalism and accountability.
3. *Learning Continuity*: Timely starts ensure smooth transitions and minimize disruptions.
4. *Student Engagement*: Starting lessons on time helps maintain student focus and engagement.
By being punctual, teachers set a positive tone, promote a productive learning environment, and model valuable life skills for students.
-
I strongly agree on this. Punctuality promotes and ensures a productive use of classroom time and also helps maintains a well structured learning environment.
It also reduces the chances of having lessons disrupted as learners settle quickly. It also helps with building focus and full learner engagement during the lesson. It also helps and instil time management skills and punctuality on learners.
And for teachers, punctuality will help keep you more calm, well organised and prepared for your lessons and day. Reducing stress and making mistakes and increase your productivity levels.
-
I strongly believe that, being on time ensures a very productive day in the classroom.

- I personally agree that punctuality is very important for educators. As an educator we must lead by example, and always be on time.
- I also believe that as an educator we must have a good relationship with colleagues, parents and learners to make our job more easier. To also create a healthy environment. To work as a team especially colleagues. To get to know our learners better.
-
Thank you for your input.. I believe it is of paramount importance to have time management skills as an educator. To be on time for work and for class is essential for the smooth running of the school as a whole.

I strongly agree with promoting gender equality in classroom, learners need to feel safe and included in their classroom.
-
Promoting gender equality in the classroom is very much important because learners will be feel free to participate in every lesson and it promotes self confidence to them.
-
-
Strongly agree, Promoting gender equality in the classroom involves creating a learning environment where all students, regardless of their gender, feel valued, respected, and empowered. Teachers can achieve this by using inclusive language, challenging gender stereotypes, and providing equal opportunities for participation and leadership. They can also encourage girls and boys to explore non-traditional subjects and activities, such as girls in STEM and boys in arts. Additionally, teachers can address and prevent gender-based bullying and discrimination, and provide resources and support for students who may be experiencing gender-related issues. By promoting gender equality, teachers can help students develop into confident, empathetic, and open-minded individuals who respect and value diversity.
-
I also believe that the promotion of gender equality is of at-most importance especially in the situation we are finding our selves in now as gbv is getting worse. Being able to address this with educators together with learners might help minimise these incidents as learners will grow up knowing that no matter the gender we are both equal and deserve the same amount of respect,
-
I support the promotion of gender equality in the class. Other gender suffer a lot in class and they are unable to express themselves in a relevant manner.
-
Gender equality should be top priority as of recently to include all genders with no bias and allow both genders to be seen as equally and not be catagorised by gender roles. This will also raise awareness and advocate against gender based violence.
-
I agree with you on this one, Promoting gender equality in the classroom is crucial as it fosters fairness, respect, and equal opportunities for all learners. By challenging traditional stereotypes and encouraging diverse perspectives, we create a positive and inclusive learning environment. boosts confidence, participation, and academic performance, ultimately leading to healthier relationships and a more supportive classroom culture.
-
Promoting gender equality in the classroom is important as the learner will feel free to express themselves, value and respect others ..
-
I think honesty and integrity as an educator is very important because it builds trust between educators, learners, parents as well as the community. It ensures that educators serve as as reliable role models fostering an environment where there is fairness and respect, without integrity foundation of educational relationship becomes weak and may result in harming learners well being as well as learning outcomes
-
Promoting gender equality is important because learners are able to be themselves and have the confidence to express themselves around each other.
-
I also believe that gender equality is of cardinal importance in the classroom as it will ensure that all the learners in the classroom have equal access to resources and learning opportunities. This will foster a more inclusive and respectful environment both inside and outside of the classroom and this will in total promote a positive learning environment and fair academic outcomes for all.
-
And also empower the girl child, by giving them more responsibility like head girl or class rep, which will help them to be more influential
-
Promoting gender equality is a very important aspect as that will raise that everyone in the classroom is important as all the learners should be treated equally and no one should be a favorite.
-
Promoting gender equality in education is essential for fostering an inclusive learning environment, breaking down stereotypes and biases, empowering learners to recognize and challenge discrimination, and serving as a positive role model. By upholding this principle, educators can create a fair and supportive environment that values diversity and promotes social justice, ultimately empowering learners to reach their full potential.
-
I believe that integrity is critical. It involves being honest, transparent and consistent in actions even when know one is watching. Integrity ensures accountability, maintain trust and upholds the reputation of the profession.
-
behaves in a way that enhances the dignity and status of the teaching profession and that does not bring the profession into disrepute;
-
-
Arrive on time. Punctuality shows your coworkers that you are reliable, care about your work and value their time.
-
-
Punctuality is an important factor in our line of work and it also says a lot about you as a person and how serious you are about your work.
-
I strongly agree with you. Punctuality impacts classroom discipline by being a good example to kids.
-
Supported too, not being cautious of what you say really paints a picture bout you and affects your learners. E. G using vulgar words will influence them to believe it is normal to sa use such words
-
I agree with you. As a teacher you should behave professionally at all times. What, how you do has an impact to your learners. What comes out of your mouth and how you dress should be professional. This is because we are a model to the learners.
-
-
I consider critical is maintaining professional relationships with learners, colleagues, and parents. This characteristic is essential because it fosters a positive learning environment and promotes mutual respect. As a teacher, how we engage with others directly influences the school culture and learners’ outcomes. Upholding this standard ensures that professional boundaries are respected, and it sets an example of ethical conduct for learners. It is also vital for resolving conflicts constructively and maintaining a collaborative workplace
-
I strongly agree with the comment about mutual respect as colleagues. This sets a tone for the learners in treating each other with respect. This culture may promote eradication of bullying and violence in our schools. It starts at the TOP.
-
-
The positive relationship with colleagues and learners is the most important part of the teaching profession, and I believe the respect of time also shows the willingness to work with colleagues in a mutual manner.
-
Agree with you, respectful relations with parents and learners will support teaching and learning process.
-
That’s very true, again implementing parental involvement can also help build a good relationship between the teacher and parents and giving feedback on the learner behaviour and performance. The parents can also be the support system to the teachers.
-
-
-
Punctuality means respect, lack of respect for your learners and your school leads to set back of starndads that need to be set, not respecting time will results to administration and clasroon Work being a jungle that will jeopardize the learning of the day.
-
Ofcourse, punctuality is absolutely important. Being punctual shows your colleagues that your are serous about the job. Making excuses everytime your late sends a nasty message across.
-
I agree that being punctual is very important as an educator. Learners are always watching us and they take on similar behaviours as their teachers
-
-
Yes Indeed punctuality is mandatory in our profession as it communicates how serious you are towards your work. It portrays your professionalism as an educator and other than that, we work with time for our lessons and curriculum coverage.
-
Punctuality is very Important. It sets a good example to learners. Once you are punctual the learners adapt to the behaivor quickly then the teaching and learning becomes conducive. This helps with classroom management.
-
-
I agree. Being on time ensures a very productive day in the classroom
-
I strongly agree, respecting time ensures that lessons start and end punctually, allowing for the full curriculum to be covered without unnecessary delays. Teachers who are punctual and meet deadlines set a good example for learners and contribute to a culture of discipline and responsibility. When teachers show mutual respect, including being on time for meetings or duties, misunderstanding and conflicts are minimized.
-
I strongly agree with you ,be punctual it shows that you value and respect your work .
-
punctuality is important because it shows that you respect your profession and it also contribute to a productive and efficient learning environment
-
-
Courage. Courage is required to create ethical outcomes appropriate for all parties involved, and it can take the form of willpower, tact,or even street-smartness, depending on the situation.
-
Brave teaching involves a willingness to be a risk taker, to be vulnerable, to give up old ways of thinking and understanding about teaching, to be curious about the world we are all living in and to find courage from within and with other teachers.
-
-
Dress code. A professional appearance is important when employees work with customers or potential customers.
-
Clothing should not be too revealing, should avoid clothes that are too tight, short, see through and take care of what’s written on your clothes as a professional.
-
What we dress say a lot from people around us, some of our clothes makes us disrespected by our colleagues and learners. We must be presentable.
-
Dress code. A professional appearance is important when employees work with customers or potential customers.
-
-
-
We need to be dress professionally (clothes which are not revealing), need and look organised. This is of importance because learners look up to teachers.
-
U strongly agree. Even learners will respect you as a teacher if you dress properly
-
A professional dress code helps teachers establish credibility and authority in the classroom. When teachers dress professionally, students are more likely to show respect and take them seriously. A dress code can help minimize distractions and maintain a focused learning environment. Dressing professionally can help create a sense of occasion and importance around learning. Dressing professionally can help teachers feel more confident and self-assured in their role.
-
I strongly agree with this statement, because when one are dressed professionally it shows that you respect not only yourself, but also your profession. It also helps you to make a good impression on your learners. When dressed correctly, you will have the confidence to be the best teacher you can be.
-
I strongly agree with you on dressing properly, dressing appropriately boosts your confidence which helps you relate better with learners and colleagues. When your confidence levels are high enough you have a positive attitude and positive self esteem which enables you to present yourself in front of others.
-
-
I would also like to emphasize on the dress code, as teachers we need to dress professionally because learners are looking up to us, if we wear like we are going to the groove they won’t be inspired and will also not respect us in a way they’re suppose to
-
yes I agree. A teacher who neat and well kept; inspire their learners.
-
I strongly agree way we present ourselves it’s important because children learn through imitation…We are role models of this children…
-
I agree… Dress code for teachers is crucial as it reflects their professionalism and sets a good example for students.
Teachers’ attire influences students’ perception of them and the educational environment. Wearing professional clothing helps establish authority and respect.
-
-
Absence without notice. Employees who are unable to work due to illness or an accident should notify their supervisor.
-
usually, in a case of an accident your family member, caretaker or even spouse should report this at work provided you are in no condition to do so.
In an event the principal cannot reach you he must conduct your next of kin.
-
-
Cell phone used at work. Personal cell phone usage during work hours is discouraged, except in extreme cases such as an emergency.
-
I fully agree, cellphones should be used on extreme conditions
-
cellphones should not be allowed. learners use them to copy and reflect false results.
-
I agree with you some learners are very naughty the end up using their for to watch adult videos inside the classroom
-
-
-
I personally agree , cellphone usage at work during working hours should be banned. It waste time of the teacher and that of the learners. Unless it is an emergency case teachers should put their phones on silent mode when entering their respective classrooms and attend to it during their free time like during breaks or after school.
-
I strongly agree cellphones during work is sign of not taking your work serious
-
Gender equality must be considered strongly in the classroom so that every should free to express him/herself.
-
-
The use of cellphones are a distruction for both teachers and learners and is an academic fall back because it takes aways the attention and focus.
-
I concur with you, cellphones can easily distract you. To avoid distraction cellphone shouldn’t be near classrooms.
-
Agreed, cellphone usage during contact time limits teaching and learning. Blinds one in terms of attention to learner capabilities or barriers, a teacher would struggle with classroom management because no learner would listen nor pay attention to a teacher whose head is buried in their phone.
-
I beg to differ, the usage of cellphones is appropriate in classrooms as education has evolved. There is a platform for learning which was introduced for Maths and Science which is Siyavula. The district is urging students to utilise it and they want proof of that the kids are participating on the platform.
Due to this us as educators we are supposed to facilitate that, by informing the learners to bring their cellphones. As this will compel them to participate on the activities that are on siyavula, increasing the percentage of users on the website.
-
I would like to emphasise on the importance of not using your phone during or in between lessons especially in a foundation phase classroom where learners require a lot of time, attention and assistance.

Communication
Teachers work with parents as a support team for each student.-
I agree with you an educator should recognizes the parents as partners in education and promotes a harmonious relationship with them.
-
I agree, parental involvement can free teachers to focus more on the task of teaching children
-
Parental involvement is essential as it will create a safe space for leaners and teachers.
-
-
-
Parents should also be active participants in their childrens education, this enables active teacher-parent engagements which helps improve the learners overall performance.
-
Parental involvement is crucial, when there is a communication between a parent and a teacher there positive developments that benefits the child education level and behavior. We both strive to make a learner progress.
-
Thats a great development, and as an educator you should team up with the parents so you can win the learners attention and there shouldn’t be a side where the parent side with his or her child, because it gives the learner the power to start being manipulative and it can engage some unnecessary anger where the parent will think ,i as an educator i am against the learner and that changes the character of the learner during class lessons but if we team up and do better, the child will be forcefully to cooperate with us without even hesitating but automatically he or she will start to see the effort of the parent and the educator.Team up between a parent and educator is also best solution to assist the learner to stay focused.
-
I agree with the issue of parental involvement, this normally creates a safe space for learners and for us teachers. Further, their involvements will assist the school in dealing with learners who are disturbing the lessons and bullying others, as they will know that their parents are actively involved in the school issues. And this will help us to address such matters of ill-behaved learners and other important matters that are ensuring that the school runs efficiently and effectively.
-
-
I agree with this. Working with the parents and creating that relationship helps improve the learning environment of the learner at school and home. This promotes the effectiveness and ensures that you have the support from the parents.
-
Parental involvement is very much important because there will be positive relationship between parents and educator so that they can help learners with barriers or any difficulties that distracting them in learning.
-
-
Working with parents helps to build a positive relationship with parents and it helps to improve learners achievement.
-
Absolutely agree—when teachers and parents work together as a team, students benefit immensely. Open, respectful communication builds trust and ensures that everyone is aligned on supporting the student’s academic and personal growth. It really takes a collaborative effort to create the best environment for learning
-
And this is will benefit all parties involved because they’ll all learn and earn new perspectives that are beneficial for the learners
-
-
-
Professional commitment. To demonstrate a high level of professionalism and loyalty to the organization, its mandate and objectives.
-
Respect. To Respect the dignity, worth, equality, diversity and privacy of all persons.
-
Trust. Teachers relationship with pupils, colleagues, parents, school management and the community are based on trust.Trust embodi fairness, openness and honesty.
-
As an educator, it is best to be trusted by colleagues you work with, so that can create a healthy working environment. When it comes to parents, it is vitally important to form a good relationship with their learners. This will be helpful in gaining their trust and respect, also they will be at ease knowing that their children are in capable and safe hands.
-
As an educator, I must make sure that parents trust me so that we can have good relationship with learners. If learners trust me they will try to work harder so that they cannot disappoint me. Even learners who are not good at all, if I show him or her love they will change their attitude.
-
-
Never stop learning. An educators code of conduct demands attentiveness to containing education requirements and career development.
-
It is important for teachers to keep on studying since the world of education is evolving. Teachers can stay effective, relevant and sensitive to the changing and diverse demands of their learners and society as a whole b continuing to learn. Especially with the rise of Ai, they can continously use technology meaningfully to improve their learners engagement and performance. Lastly they can learn about diversity and inclusion to be able to support learners from different environments/ backgrounds especially those with specific learning needs.
-
-
Putting students first. Teachers must model strong character traits, including perseverance, honest, respect, lawfulness, fairness, patience, and unity.
-
Communication with the colleagues, parents and parents is very important as it shows the positive working environment.
-
-
Discrimination. Treating a person unfairly directly or indirectly because of who they are or because they possess certain characteristics.
-
Corporal punishment. Hitting the child for the purpose of punishment, no matter how lightly.
-
Discipline can be instilled without Corporal punishment. As newly appointed educator we must do away with means of punishment that is against the policy.
-
-
As a teacher it is important to dress in a proper way so that you can have dignity, look good and be comfortable around both learners and colleagues. Remember as a teacher you are a role model, mother, pastor, nurse, etc. Dressing well will make everyone respect you.
-
I agree, how you dress defines your character. It also establish the type of atmosphere your classroom will hold and these learners will be able to take you serious because you mean businesses.
-
I strongly agree, the way teachers dress has an impact on how the learner’s behave around you.
-
I also agree with you that dress code says alot about a person. Our profession requires us to dress well and this inspires the learners to value this profession.
-
Personally i love and respect this profession and i ask my self if others educators do care about it same way i do.
-
-
I do agree that the way a person dress set a tone, but I would like to know about proper dress code for teachers. Teachers do not have uniforms and so we are told to dress appropriately and professionally. What is professionally clothing according to our Department of education? I would like to know because we can agree that dress code and fashion has drastically changed today compared to the last 10 years.
-
Dressing code is very important, if you dress well learners will respect you
-
I agree with you on this one because dress code says a lot about yourself.
-
-
-
To dress well make the learners fill happy and comment a lot.
-
Dress code is a very important aspect in which us newly appointed teachers we have to consider
-
Dress code is important as a teacher because it establishes professionalism and credibility. It sets a good example for students. It also shows respect for the school, students, and colleagues. And it also helps build trust and authority in the classroom. It’s essential to make a good impression and establish a professional identity as a teacher.
-
-
-
A professional dress code at our workplaces in this regard our South African schools is a critical issue as learners can adopt a way to address a teacher by the way they may dress to the workplace. A professional dress code also constituted respect similar to professional behavior.
-
I agree with you. I have noticed that this days teachers don’t care about the dress codes. And learners easily lose respect for teachers. A code of conduct in terms of teachers’ dress codes should be enforced and clearly outlined, especially during teaching practice to allow the upcoming teachers know a proper way to display themselves infront of the learners.
-
I agree, some teachers really do not take dress code seriously and this creates a negative impression amongst parents as well colleagues.
-
To be honest, us new teachers we are the one that dont take our profession serious. The way we dress to work its embarrassing and yet we demand respect from our learners, fellow colleagues and parents.
-
-
-
Dress code is very important, the new generation of teachers don’t really take that into consideration. I still believe you should look presentable in front of the learners of which most young teachers call old fashioned.
