I have completed my mid year appraisal. I need to improve on my lesson planning and classroom management.

I have completed my QMS but I still see a gap in being consistent with preparing lesson plans, that’s something I need to improve

To have a consistent class room structure throughout the year. Helps with classroom discipline and all learners know what is expected of them.

Overcrowded classrooms is still a huge problem for me. It needs more monitoring than a smaller one. The lesson pace must be fast and be full of interesting activities to keep the learners’ attention towards the lessons, which is good but unfair for slower learners.

I have completed my mid year instrument and now I’m busy with my final year appraisal instruments. I will heve to focus more on management of time to cover all the concepts and also code switching when I see there is a need to use lolt so that my leaners could understand

I still need help in maintaining discipline in large classrooms.I think that I will prioritize that.

I have a huge challenge to keep everything organized and in files. I start out good, but somewhere along the way I end up with a huge pile of papers that have to be filed somewhere. Then they get boxed to be never found again. 🙆♀️

Time management, and how to create the environment conducive for my learners.

Hello colleagues,
I’ve recently completed the Annual Appraisal for QMS 2024, and, in reflecting on both the mid-year and annual, a persistent challenge stands out: managing discipline effectively. Despite efforts to adapt, I find that this area has remained a consistent hurdle.
With each new year, it seems that engaging learners and maintaining classroom discipline becomes increasingly difficult. The latest generations of learners bring unique challenges—at times, it can feel as though we’re needing to ‘force’ them to learn, while simultaneously being careful not to overstep the boundaries set by policies and laws that protect their rights. Striking this balance can leave one feeling helpless, especially when theoretical guidelines on discipline don’t quite translate to the realities we face daily in our classrooms.
I’m curious to find out from others in this space. How are you approaching discipline in your classrooms?😥

Identify your activities and create a priority list. Allocate your time to each activity according to the time allocated or planned for the completion of the activity. Avoid engaging your energy on time wasters.

ICT training is a challenge because it impacts on the administration of the SA-SAMS
Ensuring that the SGB is informed fully about the policies and legislations.
Effective condition of classroom observation because of conflicting activities
Participation in extra-mural activities by teachers.

After finishing my self-assessment, I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to get better at maintaining records.

I have completed my QMS and it was more successful. Lesrners responded in a very positive way and the lesson was in line with the caps document.
I would improve on the aspect such as discipline in the classroom. There some learners who are always out for attention in class and such can cause disruption.
