I chose NEPTOSA because it represents and protects the rights of educators in South Africa. It focuses on improving working conditions and supporting teachers.
Importance of NEPTOSA:
NEPTOSA is important because it:-

I would choose to be part of the SADTU. They are a massive organization who are able to influence key policy positions that work to the benefit of the workforce. The union is also largely committed to the success of the learners, in that they are constantly advocating for better working conditions of their members, but also to ensure that effective teaching and learning take place. Being a member of the SADTU enables me to stand in solidarity with workers across the globe, fighting against austerity measures that have crippled the psychology of education workers. I too stand with the global call that speaks out against the privatization of eduction,. I throw my weight and qualification behind the ‘Go public, fund education ‘ campaign .

When I first started teaching I was very keen on joining Sadtu because it was the union that I heard of the most during my studies and also the biggest one. But, when I had problems at work they were dragging their feet with helping me and I had to suffer bullying and unfair treatment for months. After that ordeal I joined Naptosa and haven’t look back since.
