I agree. Dress code is more important, as it restores ones’ dignity and presenting a good impression to the people you lead. It reminds teachers that they should lead as a good example to the nation that lead.

One important characteristic from the <strong data-start=”149″ data-end=”180″>Code of Professional Ethics is <em data-start=”184″ data-end=”206″>professional conduct. This refers to maintaining respectful behaviour, acting in the best interests of learners, being punctual, prepared, and demonstrating integrity at all times.

I consider this characteristic critical because it forms the foundation of trust between the teacher, learners, parents, and the school community. When a teacher demonstrates professional conduct, it sets a positive example for learners and creates a safe, predictable environment where learning can take place effectively. Professional conduct also ensures that teachers uphold the reputation of the profession by acting responsibly, ethically, and respectfully, even in challenging situations.
In addition, being professional affects everything else a teacher does—how lessons are delivered, how discipline is handled, how communication is managed, and how decisions are made. Without strong professional conduct, it becomes difficult to maintain consistency, fairness, and credibility in the classroom. Therefore, I believe this characteristic is essential for building a successful teaching practice and fostering a learning environment built on respect and trust.
