Possibility of starting a PLC:

– I would like to establish a learning committee that focuses on improving or enhancing teachers ICT skills or digital literacy.

– We are moving into technological influenced world that requires teachers to adapt to new ways of teaching.

– Many schools are also receiving gadgets that can be used to enhance the teaching and learning process.

– This PLC will not only help my school, but other neighbouring schools and I think every teachers who has good ICT skills can add value to this PLC.

The Code of Professional Ethics that stands out for me and that I consider critical is Time Management.

– We as teachers often fail to manage time or be on time and affects the process of teaching a lot.

– This also encourages an undesirable behavior in learners because once they start to pick up the pattern, they start to behave the same way. For example, if learners realize that the teachers are not attending assembly on time, they also start being late or start dragging their feet to the assembly. Once this behavior is deeply rooted in learners, it will become hard to rectify it.

– If a teachers is late or class or does not attend his/ her class, learners start doing the same. Or they will be found walking around the school or misbehaving in the toilets because they are not utilizing their allocated learning time. This often leads to the disruption of other classes.

– I believe time management is critical and should be treated as such because it has a huge impact on learners. When modelled correctly by teachers, it can influence learners positively and become a lifelong lesson to them. That time should always be respected.
