EGRI: Early Grade Reading Instruction
Reading is the foundational skill upon which all others build. This collection of courses focuses on Early Grade Reading Instruction (EGRI) for the Foundation Phase (Grades R to 3) in isiZulu Home Language.
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education is therefore pleased to offer the breakthrough course Ukufundisa ukufunda emabangeni aphansi ngolimi lwesiZulu for teachers and the Supporting Reading Instruction in isiZulu Home Language in Your School for SMT courses.
In addition four extension modules have been developed covering the following:
- Abafundi Abanobunzima Bokufunda (Reading Barriers)
- Ukusebenzisa Isu Lokubuza Ukuze Kuthuthuke Ukufunda (Questioning Techniques for Teaching Reading)
- Ukufundisa Ukufunda Ekilasini Eligcwele Ngokweqile (Teaching Reading in Crowded Classrooms)
- Ukufundisa Ukufunda Ekilasini Elinamabanga Axubile (Teaching Reading in Multi-Grade Classrooms)
