Who in your school do you think would add value to this PLC?There are 2 other new teachers at my school, or rather, teachers considered new. With the other teachers from other schools or different environments and being able to communicate all the problems we are facing as newly appointed teachers, we can help each other through the challenges we are facing

(see Annex 1 for more information on PLCs)Finding PLCs will help mostly new teachers. There is not much support for teachers; those who get support can share what or how they were supported, and then all the new teachers will be able to help each other navigate through the life of a teacher with the backing from someone who understands what the other teacher is actually going through daily.

Reflect on your feelings about joining a union.I have joined SADTU. I have heard all the good testimonies and the good work the union does and it mostly resonates with my beliefs as a teacher.

Identify one characteristic and reflect on why you consider it critical.Knowing your learners, starting with knowing them by their names, I have been working for two months, and I believe I know all 52 of my learners by name, and I understand most of their characters. Knowing your learners gives them a sense of belonging, and they also feel the love, value, and respect you give them. Which motivates them toi give you the same respect as learners look up to us as teachers.
