Time management is very key… it enables you to be able to meet deadline, cover content on time and be able manage your class or subject you teach.

    Integrity

I consider integrity critical because it forms the foundation of trust and credibility in any profession. It encompasses honesty, transparency, and ethical behavior, ensuring that individuals act with sincerity and authenticity in their work. Without integrity, professionals may compromise their values and principles, leading to harm to themselves, their clients, and the organization.

Reflecting on integrity, I realize that it’s essential in building strong relationships, maintaining a positive reputation, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism. It’s about being true to oneself and one’s values, even in challenging situations. By embracing integrity, professionals demonstrate their commitment to ethical conduct and responsible behavior, fostering a culture of trust and respect above all sense of belonging and accountability.

I think the involvement of parent in learning progress is very important. Because positive connections between parents and teachers are essential to ensuring a positive impact on student academic potential, not only will it help students build trust , but it will made them feel welcomed and willing to work more

I also consider parental involvement as critical: Students whose parents stay involved in school have better attendance and behavior, get better grades, demonstrate better social skills and adapt better to school.

One characteristic that stands out for me from the code of professional Ethics is: “respect for learners, colleagues, and the education system”. I consider this characteristic critical because it sets the tone for a positive and supportive learning environment. when educators demonstrate respect for their learners, they:

    – Recognize the inherent worth and dignity of each learner, create a safe and inclusive space for learning, foster a sense of belonging and engagement, encourage active participation and meaningful contributions.

Respect for colleagues promotes collaboration, teamwork, and shared commitment to educational excellence. Respect for the education system acknowledges the importance of the profession and the impact it has on society.

By embracing this characteristics, educators build trust, empathy, and a strong foundation for effective teaching and learning.

I think the issue of time is the most vital, time is one of those things that when lost, it can’t be regained.

I strongly agree being on time not only help us to cover the curriculum but also help learners to have enough time for revision purposes and also us as teachers we get an opportunity to fully revise misconception with learners.

I think it also critical for both teachers and learners to be on time also attend classes daily. Poor attence can negatively affect teaching and leaning since the curriculum coverage might be behind.

The Code of Professional Ethics that stands out for me and that I consider critical is Time Management.

    – We as teachers often fail to manage time or be on time and affects the process of teaching a lot.

    – This also encourages an undesirable behavior in learners because once they start to pick up the pattern, they start to behave the same way. For example, if learners realize that the teachers are not attending assembly on time, they also start being late or start dragging their feet to the assembly. Once this behavior is deeply rooted in learners, it will become hard to rectify it.

    – If a teachers is late or class or does not attend his/ her class, learners start doing the same. Or they will be found walking around the school or misbehaving in the toilets because they are not utilizing their allocated learning time. This often leads to the disruption of other classes.

    – I believe time management is critical and should be treated as such because it has a huge impact on learners. When modelled correctly by teachers, it can influence learners positively and become a lifelong lesson to them. That time should always be respected.

Respect. It is very important to respect everyone around you, whether she is a cleaner or a security guard including your learners because how you treat them one day they will do the same to you.

I agree with you on this one . If you don’t respect others then your learners will also not respect you.

Being a public figure means dress code need to go in line with how you behave. Dress code is the first aspect in the teaching profession, because it requires one to be responsible on how they dress.

Respect: it is vital for educators to respect parents and learners since this impacts teaching and learning positively. We should be considerate when communicating with colleagues, parents/ guardians especially when communicating non-verbally, to avoid sending messages we do not intend to.

Teachers serve as role models for many,so it is very important for them to dress in a way that conveys professionalism, respect and positive image to others.

I agree especially if you are teaching high school learners. High school learners hormones are everywhere and teachers (male and female) wearing tight clothes can cause distractions to the learners.

late Coming and absent without a valid reason. It is critical because we are working about time we have to cover all our content areas before the assessment is due furthermore, as educators we should teach learners to be punctual.

One of the critical characteristics of professional ethics for me is time management as in being punctual for work, being in time for all your periods, returning to class in time after breaks. For me it is critical for an educator to be disciplined when it comes to punctuality as it also promotes discipline in learners, being on time helps to minimize disruptions and unruliness in class.
